  • Curves is an important part of my life today and i get results and keep them! It is not an easy workout but it is doable. I enjoy visiting the staff and other ladies during my 30 minute workout.

Hello my name is Tami Nelson. I joined Curves when i was 167 lbs. I was wearing size 12-13 at that time and lived in San Jose,CA. I was 40-years old and I noticed that my body was changing rapidly and I was feeling so dumpy and lifeless with no energy at all. So my friedn(who was looking very good) told me about Curves and how quick it is and easy and IT WORKS. I saw the results she was getting and was convinced, so I joined Curves in San Jose, in 2002. I was not commited at the time and did not have the best results. I moved to San Diego to get married in 2003 and transferred my membership to Alta View (Paradise Hills) again i was not too motivated for the first year. Then in 2004 my fiance and i broke apart and my world was falling apart. I began to workout 3-4 days a week, stopped sugar completely for 6 months and i cut my carbs in half. I lost two sizes in the first 6 months and was very happy. However i continued to workout atleast 3-4 times and in 2006 reached my goal weight. I weighed 130lbs and lost 32 inches. I am size 4-6 and love buying clothes. Because of a recent move, i am now a member of Elcajon Blvd Curves, where i was greeted and treated as if i had always been a member here. Curves is an important part of my life today and i get results and keep them! It is not an easy workout but it is doable. I enjoy visiting the staff and other ladies during my 30 minute workout.

Marianne Nolan, In April of ‘08, I retired after 40 years in banking. I was always on the go and very active. After retirement, I still walked, however, I started putting on weight and I needed a much better exercise program if I really wanted to lose the weight I had gained. I was 164 lbs, the heaviest I had ever been. I am only 5’ 4 1/2” tall. I joined Curves in April ’09 for a better overall exercise program. I liked that I could attend any days and hours that were convenient for me. Curves put me on the right track and I only worked out 3 times a week. My goal was to lose 40 lbs and I am almost there. I went from a size 12 - 14 to a size 4 in less than a year and I currently weigh 128 lbs. Curves is a great incentive for me and I will continue to exercise to keep my body fit.

It was September 2007 when I visited my doctor. I was overweight, had slightly high blood pressure, and my blood sugar was at 112, 13 points higher than the highest it should be. I decided it was time to take control of my life and do something about getting healthier. That same month, a friend at work told me she had just joined Curves and she really liked the program. I visited and found that it was located on my way home from work. I joined right then and started my program the next day. Partnered with going to Curves was changing my diet and really becoming aware of all of my meals. Within three months my blood sugar count was down to 87 and I had already lost almost 20 pounds. I was thrilled. This was working and I was having fun. All of the counselors at Curves have been very supportive and encouraging. By December 2008 I had lost 73 pounds and 63 inches. I have gone from a size 20 to a size 12. Needless to say I feel much healthier and have much more energy. A fun side to loosing the weight was seeing a nephew I had not seen since I started going to Curves. When he saw me after the weight loss he just could not stop staring at me. He said I looked like a new person. This happened quite often and really felt good. I truly believe that the key to maintaining my weight loss and staying healthy is exercise, along with a healthy diet. I continue to go to Curves every week and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to live a healthier life.
